Hi.  Many people. Ask me which. Is my favourite book. It would be easy to say Kane and Abel, because it’s not least it sold a million copies in the first week, has sold 37 million and has been read by a hundred million people.

But actually, I have a very soft spot for A Prisoner of Birth, my attempt to rewrite Dumas’s wonderful account of Monte Cristo in modern day. So if you liked Kane & Abel and you haven’t read A Prisoner of Birth, I say to all my readers, please give it a try.
